On Adm. Byrd's 1926 flight to the North Pole. Reel 1, Byrd and Floyd Bennett pose. The freighter Chantier leaves New York Harbor, passes through ice floes, and anchors in King's Bay, Spitsbergen Islands. A Fokker airplane, the Josephine Ford, is floated to shore and assembled. It taxis into a snow bank and is dug out. The dirigible Norge is berthed. Reel 2, the Fokker takes off, flies over the Polar wastes, and lands at King's Bay. Explorers Amundsen and Ellsworth congratulate Byrd and receive navigation instruments from him. The Fokker accompanies the Norge part way to the Pole. Shows a celebration on the Chantier, a parade in New York City, and Byrd receiving the Congressional Medal of Honor from Pres. Coolidge.
